Today has been all about food.

Indeed my day has been all about food. I went to the forest, ended up walking around there for two hours. It was so nice! All alone in the woods, just me and the birds. And ants, mosquitos, flies and.... so on and so forth. But it was really nice! (however I am glad I took my trusted wellies, it's so darn wet in the forest from all this raining!)

I found some chantarells, which actually was why I went up there in the first place, and I also picked blueberries. I must admit I do get slightly panicy when I wander around there, there's just so much blueberries! It's like wading in a blue stream! At one point I looked up and was kind of lost. I had wandered for so long without looking up, so it took me a few minutes before I knew where I was.  (And for the record I didn't find any Karl-Johan mushrooms (don't know the english name) either, so Madeleine, you need to share!) Here's proof I didn't just eat the blueberries, I actually brought some home!

Anyhow when I got home I was really in this harvesting mood, so I picked some black currant in our garden. I ended up making a batch of cordial. Here's what it looks like.

Silence.

Hi folks! I know it's been quiet here the past few days. It's a combination of factors that is to blame... We've had some stuff to go through concerning the sale of our house and I've just not looked to fashionable when doing it. Today I spent the afternoon by the sewingmashine, I'll continue that little blouse project tomorrow. 

However, in my mind I'm already working on my next project. I think it'll be a two piece thing... A little inspired by this dress from Betty Page Clothing. It's stunning!

This 'n that.

I just wanted to show you some stuff I've made lately but haven't photographed until today. First off are my new pants, I swear to God these are so comfy I might even consider acknowleding that there is a slight possibility that there are pants out there that are just as nice to wear as a skirt or a dress. (Just maybe, but that's still huge coming from me!)

You like? They're so wide and have the perfect length to be super comfortable! They're made from an old pattern, I would guess 70's, so I had to remodel them quite a bit. For instance I cut of about 20 cm from the top! From the beginning it had pockets, but they kind of vanished when I cut them down, and I was to lazy to make new ones, hehe.

This is a project I started and finished this morning. Let's call it the "Linn is sick and tired of plastic shopping bags"-project.  It's a shopping bag from some left over fabric I had. And it turns inside out if you get sick of pattern on the outside. Two in one, so to speak. The darker fabric is actually leftovers from the pillowcases I made yesterday and the white fabric I bought with the intention to nail to a wooden frame and hang on the wall. Well, I think it was put to better use here, don't you?

Now I really need to take a shower and shape up. Then Mr M is making me dinner, and just to finish the day off we're going to see the new Harry Potter at the movie theater. I'm so excited!

DIY

Just wanted to show you what I've been up to the past few days. I've made this beret/hat for example. I love the colour of it. Kind of petroleum blue. I might just make it a tad bigger, haven't decided yet.

I've done some more stuff too, but since Mr M can't find my camera remote (I let him borrow it on one condition: don't you dare loose it!...Hrmphf...) and he himself is not at home at the moment. But then again, then you have yet another exciting post to look forward to!

My new dress.

Last night I started to make a new dress for myself. Well, it was so much fun sewing last night I almost finished it too. However I did the finishing touches this morning and here it is. Actually it is the same pattern as this dress. Funny how different it can look just by choosing a different fabric. And also I used a zipper instead of buttons and I added a hood. Oh, and I also used long sleeves on this one. Not sure I love the sleeves, but I do have an idea on how to remake them into something I will undoubtedly like. 

What do you think? The white fabric by the hem of the skirt is another dress I have underneath and not part of the dress itself. 

Now I'm off for a few days. I'm going to Norway to visit my maternal grandmother. I'll have a blast! 

Fabrics.

Hittills idag har jag haft en liten ego-dag. Sambo åkte tidigt för att hjälpa sin far med något pyssel. Själv sov jag längre än jag normalt gör, vaknade och låg och läste en lång stund innan jag gick upp. La mig på spikmattan i en kvart, så avslappnande att det är helt galet. 

So far I've had a total ego-day today. A went to help his father out really early. I myself slept longer than usual and then stayed in bed and read a good book. Then I got up, just to lay down again on my spike mat. That thing is so insanely relaxing it's on the verge of being silly!

Sen drog jag på mig träningskläderna och stack till Friskis. Ett skönt och tungt skivstångspass blev det, alldeles för längesedan sist! Tog en sväng på stan också när jag ändå var där. Köpte lite tyger. Igen. Det var ju rea! Det gråa är "mjukisbralls-tyg" och ska bli en klänning att softa i när kvällarna blir lite ruggiga. Det blommiga ska bli en blus tänkte jag. Visst är det fint!? Sambos reaktion till det var: "det där är ju tant-tyg! Du är ju ingen tant!" Mitt svar: Jag ä ingen tant, alltså är inte tygerna jag köper tant-tyger." Logiskt och bra, eller hur?

After that I put on my work out clothes and went to the gym. Way to long in between the visits lately! Since I was already in town, I went to buy some fabrics aswell. There was a sale so I bought more than planned... The grey is supposed to be a dress. It's a sweatshirt type of fabric s it'll be perfect for chilly evenings. Then I just couldn't resist the flowery fabric. It's so darn cute! Don't you think? It's going to be perfect for a blouse. A's reaction when he saw it "it looks like something an old lady would buy! (not positive)". My response: I'm not old, so the fabrics I buy can't look like something an old lady would buy". I was very happy with my logic.

Nu ska jag kila, ses igen senare.

My day. So far.

Dagen hade en perfekt början. Vaknade tidigt. Utvilad. Drog på mig träningskläderna och körde en 30 minuters powerwalk. Hem igen. Käka lite frukt. Duscha. Ligga på spikmattan. Om ni inte har testat det, gör det! Det är så ofantligt skönt och avslappnade!

Today had the perfect start. Woke up early. Filled with energy. Put on my training gear and went out for a 30 min powerwalk. Home again. Ate some fruit. Showered. Relaxed on my nail mat. If you haven't tried a nail mat, do! It is so incredably relaxing. Just breath your way through the first minute and you'll see.

Efter det frukost och sen bar det av på äventyr. Jag åkte nämligen och plockade jordgubbar på en gård här i närheten. Jag har nog aldrig sett så stora jordgubbar och aldrig har jag sett så mycket på ett och samma ställe häller för den delen. Tio liter fick jag ihop, det tog femton minuter. Inte illa. 

After breakfast I went off to a small adventure. In fact I went to pick strawberries at a near by farm. I've never seen strawberries that size, nor in such quantity for that matter. I picked ten litres (which is about 2,6 gallons). It took me fifteen minutes. Not bad.

Sedan hem, rensa, frysa in en del av skörden, sen ska jag göra sylt av resten var tanken. Göttit!

Then home, rinse, freeze some of it, and later today I'll make jam out of the rest of it. Sweet!

Nu hade jag tänkt lägga mig här, på vår altan, men precis i skrivande stund började det ösregna så jag fick springa in med min stackars dator.

Just as I started to wright this post I lay down on out veranda, but after a minute, max, it started to rain so I had to run inside with my poor computer.

Nu ska jag läsa lite i den deckare jag läser nu. Sen ska jag nog pyssla lite mer. Började sy på en ny kjol förut, hade lite tyg över efter den här klänningen, så då får det bli en matchande kjol helt enkelt.

Now I'm just going to read some more in my current book. Then I'll just continue on some projects. I started to make a skirt today, since I had some fabric left over from this dress.

Ja just det, inga outfitbilder idag. Det finns inget glamouröst med mig idag. Men om ni ändå undrar hur jag ser ut, tänk er en svettpöl med vitt linne och ljust limegrön knälång kjol fylld med små gröna blommor.

Oh, and no, no outfit pictures today. There is nothing glamourous about me today. If you still wonder what I look like, imagine a pool of sweat with a white tank on and a light lime green skirt on with small green flowers.

A piece of cake.

Igår gjorde jag en cheesecake som jag även skrev om igår. Nu är den klar. Den måste nämligen vila över natten innan den kan ätas. Så den stelnar ordentligt. 

Yesterday I baked a cheesecake. It's finished now. You see, it has to rest over night before it can be eaten. So that it sets properly.

Börja med massor av underbara jordgubbar. Köp mycket. Skölj och rensa dem. Ät många under tiden. Det är viktigt. 

Start with lots of strawberries. Buy plenty. Rinse, clean and cut them. Eat many of them. That's important.

Nu kommer massa steg i receptet som jag glömde fota. Jag fotade därför receptet istället.

Now there's plenty of steps of the recipe I forgot to photograph, so I took pictures of the recipe instead.

thunder and rain comin' on.

The sky is voilently grey and it feels like rain and thunder is comming on. What to do when it rains? It feels like it hasn't rained for ages. Mother Nature is dry so she could sure need a shower. Well, I figured it out. What to do when it rains, I mean. I'm going to make a cheesecake. That must be the perfect way to spend a rainy day. 

I used this recipe once last year and I promise you it's just as delicious as it looks. I promise to take pictures when I make it myself.

Today's project, besides working.

Today I've desided to attempt a small sewing project. I'm going to try and make a mock collar for my ice cream dress. Like they had in the old days when they couldn't afford buying a dress just for special occations. Instead they had detachable collars and simply switched when they wanted to dress upp.

I'll show you later tonight how it went. And I'll also post the Weekend Blog Trophy. But now I'm off to work. I wish I had the day off so I could spend it in the sun, but hey, after today I'm free for fur weks straight, so I shouldn't really complain!

Dress.

Det här är vad jag pysslade med idag. Min klänning. Det tog jättelång tid att fästa alla knapparna och göra knapphålen, för det gjorde jag förhand. Jag känner mig lite som en glassgumma. På ett ytterst bra sätt! Jag har haft på mig klänningen hela eftermiddagen och man blir så glad av den! Tycker ni om den?

This is what I've been doing today. This dress. It took me forever to swe on the buttons and make the button holes because I did that by hand. I feel a bit like an ice cream salesman in it. In the very best of ways! Ive been wearing it all afternoon and it makes me so happy and giggly! Do you like it?

One of those days.

Idag har det varit en sådan dag. Jag har börjat på tusen projekt, men inte fått något gjort. Dock räddade jag våra jordgubbsplantor från ogräs. Eller regnskog kanske man skulle säga.

Åkte till IKEA en sväng och köpte mera tyg också. Fick väldans lust att sy en klänning, men hade inget mönster hemma som jag ville använda. Därför gick jag in på burdastyle och köpte ett mönster på en supersöt klänning. Mönstret var i pdf-format så tjoff, så hade jag det i datorn. 50 sidor i skrivaren, tjep och tålamod så har man ett mönster framför sig. Fyra dollar kostade det. Helt okej. Har fotat det hela, men orkar inte ladda upp nu, ni får se det i morgon. Nu kollas det på Criminal Minds. Gillar den serien.

Today was one of those days. Started on a thousand projects, not one finished. One good deed was that I sawed our strawberry plants from death by weed.

Went to IKEA to buy some more fabric later on the day. Went home and really wanted to make a dress from one of the fabrics I bought, but didn't have a pattern I felt like using. So I bought one from Burdastyle in PDF-format. 50 pages in the printer, some scotch tape and plenty of patience are all you need. Oh, and four usd. I photographed all of it, but I'll show that tomorrow. Now we're planning to watch a few episodes of Criminal Minds. Like that series.

Skirts. Can´t ever have enough.

Japp, jag vet att jag har varit lite slö här i bloggen de senaste dagarna. Vill ni se vad jag har pysslat med, förutom att jobba?

I know I've been a lazy blogger the last few days, but here's what I've been doing, except for work that is.

Jag har ändrat om den hur många gånger som helst dessutom. Från början vad den ungefär dubbelt så lång (enligt mönstret i alla fall), midjebandet var hälften så högt och den hade dragkjedja i sidan istället för knappar fram. Efter alla ändringar så är jag nu riktigt nöjd.

I've done plenty of alterations to the skirt before I was finally satisfied. Length, buttons vs zipper and the waist hem have all been altered. 

Hår och makeup för dagen ser ut såhär.

Här är klänningen också som ni fick se i ett tidigare inlägg, men bara på en galge. Såhär ser ska den se ut enligt mönstret. Men eftersom det onekligen ser ut som ett nattlinne så gjorde jag ett bälte till den.

This is the dress I made a few days ago. It looks like a night gown so I made a belt for it. 

Och häpp, se så mycket bättre det blev. Funderar dock på att göra om halslinningen. Kan erkänna att den är lite slarvigt gjord...

I do think it's a lot better with the belt, don't you?
